70 exhibitors at the first Go Mobility event

  • Keynote speakers such as Michael Liebreich and Claudia Peñaranda will participate in the sustainable mobility
  • fair to be held on 27 and 28 November in Ficoba

Go Mobility has practically concluded the marketing process for this first industry exhibition in Southern Europe on sustainable mobility for the future, aimed at professionals and companies working in the field of sustainable mobility and energy storage.

70 exhibitors have confirmed that they will be taking part in Go Mobility, so efforts are now focusing on attracting professional visitors interested in getting to know and interacting directly with exhibiting companies, technology centres, administrations, training centres and start-ups at a European level and finding out about highly innovative solutions for their investment needs.

First-rate speakers

One of the attractions of Go Mobility, both for exhibitors and visitors, is the panel of speakers. Among them are speakers such as Michael Liebreich, Chairman and CEO of Liebreich Associates, better known as the founder of Bloomberg New Energy Finance – a world leader in clean energy and transport information and research. He is also a member of the London Transport Board, a visiting professor at Imperial College and a member of the high-level United Nations group for the initiative known as Sustainable Energy for All.

Go Mobility will also be a showcase for the Basque Country’s sustainable mobility strategy. The Basque Councillor for Economic Development and Infrastructures, Arantza Tapia, will give a conference on the Basque Country’s commitment to sustainable mobility: steps taken so far, the projects underway and the challenges for the future.

Another confirmed speaker is Claudia Peñaranda, Venezuelan architect with a doctorate in urban planning who, between 2015 and 2017, led the team that defined and prioritised the strategic network of bicycle lanes for the entire metropolitan region of London. She currently drafts sub-regional strategic plans for sustainable growth and manages the production of feasibility studies for major transport infrastructure projects, integrating the planning for new homes with that of public transport and cycle mobility.

The panel of speakers will also include leading experts such as Isabell Büschel, National Expert Spain at Transport&Environment who will talk about how to boost the transition to electromobility in Europe, Daniel Serra, executive director of CARNET at the Polytechnic University of Catalonia, will propose an innovative approach to mobility with his conference Mobility as a Service, disrupting mobility market.

Arturo Pérez, Director of AEDIVE, the Business Association for the Development and Promotion of the Electric Vehicle, which brings together innovative companies from the entire electric vehicle value chain, will show how electric mobility is being deployed in Spain. Jaime Rodríguez de Santiago-Concha y Argos, General Manager BlaBlaCar Spain, Portugal and Germany, will focus his speech on new business models in collaborative mobility.

Go Mobility – Basque Sustainable Mobility Industry Exhibition is promoted by the Department of Economic Promotion, Rural Environment and Territorial Balance of the Regional Government of Gipuzkoa and is part of the Gipuzkoa Strategy for the Development of the Electrical Mobility Industry.

A high degree of representation in the Market Place

With the aim of identifying good practices, proposals and success stories, Go Mobility has launched several initiatives that complement the trade fair programme. One of these is the Market Place, which aims to facilitate meetings between cities that raise specific challenges in sustainable mobility and companies that provide products, services and solutions for addressing them.

Cities such as Dundee in Scotland, recently recognised as the friendliest city for electric vehicles in Europe, Dublin, Bordeaux, Bilbao, Copenhagen, Donostia-San Sebastián, Madrid, Thessaloniki, Vitoria-Gasteiz and Irun, will present their challenges in “Elevator Pitch” format (short presentations) and will participate in meetings with private companies to discuss high value partnerships in the area of sustainable mobility.
